How our pricing works, explained honestly

The maintenance trade has a reputation for vague pricing, and the suspicion is usually fair: hourly rates that stretch, parts markups nobody itemises, and quotes that change once the ceiling is opened. European Technical works on fixed quotes instead, and this page explains exactly how the money side operates, including the inspection fee.

Pricing

Fixed quotes, itemised invoices and an honest explanation of our AED 200 refundable inspection fee. No invented job prices. Call +971 50 168 5444.

The fixed quote model

Every repair is quoted before work starts, and the quote is the price you pay. It itemises labour, materials and any access equipment separately, so you can see what each element costs and decline parts you would rather source yourself. Diagnosis is the one thing that cannot be quoted blind, because we cannot know what a fault is until we have tested for it, and testing takes a technician's time. That is the honest reason inspection fees exist in this trade. Once diagnosed, the repair quote is fixed, and if we find something additional once work is open, we stop and re-quote rather than quietly extending the bill.

The AED 200 inspection fee, and why it is refundable

We charge AED 200 to attend, diagnose and report on a fault. That fee covers the technician's time, the testing and the written findings. It is refunded in full if you proceed with the quoted repair, because the diagnosis has then paid for itself inside the job. If you decide not to proceed, you keep the report, which tells you exactly what is wrong and what fixing it involves, and that information has value whoever repairs it. We do not use the fee as a pressure tactic, and we do not inflate the repair quote to recover it. For annual maintenance contract clients, inspection is included within the contract schedule, so the fee rarely applies at all.

What varies the price of a job

Honest pricing means admitting what moves the number. AC work varies with unit type, since a wall split costs less to service than a ducted system with ceiling access panels. Plumbing work varies with what has to be opened: a cartridge swap is one price, a buried leak inside a finished bathroom floor is another, and tiling reinstatement is quoted as its own line. Electrical work varies with board size and condition. Access matters too: high-rise work needing scaffolding or rope access is priced differently from ground-floor work. What does not vary is the rate once quoted. We do not charge emergency premiums on top of hidden fees; emergency attendance rates are stated on the phone before we come.

Invoicing, records and no small print

Invoices match the approved quote line for line. Materials are listed with descriptions, not lumped as sundries. Payment terms are stated on the quote, and contract clients are invoiced on the agreed schedule. Every job closes with a written report including readings taken, which is your record for landlord, building management and DM purposes. If you dispute anything on an invoice, you raise it with the supervisor who did the work, not an anonymous email address. We would rather correct a line than argue about it, because our business in Dubai runs on operators who renew, refer and sign annual contracts, and that only happens when the money side is boring and predictable.

Common questions

Straight answers, before you book.

Is the AED 200 inspection fee always charged?

It applies to standalone diagnostic visits where no repair is booked. If you accept the repair quote, the fee is refunded in full and effectively absorbed into the job. Annual contract clients have inspections included in their schedule, so the fee rarely applies. We state it on the phone when you book, never after arrival.

Do you give prices for common jobs on the website?

We deliberately do not publish job prices, because a published figure for, say, a leak repair would be fiction until we have seen it. A leak behind a wall is a different job from a leak at a shower head, and quoting them the same price means overcharging one client and underquoting another. Fixed quotes after diagnosis are the honest alternative.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept bank transfer and card payment, with terms stated on each quote. Annual contract clients are invoiced on the agreed schedule. For emergency attendance, payment terms are confirmed on the phone at the time of booking so nothing is settled after the fact.
